My latest review over at Impulse Gamer.
I had the opportunity to take a look at this last weekend before the release date, and was pleasantly surprised by the book. I was never really into Batman Beyond. The animated series was released in a period that I didn’t pay much attention to cartoons or comics. That said, I enjoyed the book. The art sets itself apart from the Bat Universe, which feels stylistically very similar across several titles, and this issue was well paced and action packed. This made it easy even for a casual reader to get into.
What happened? Long story short there’s a new Scarecrow that is manipulating the people of Gotham into attacking Batman en masse. This issue features the reveal of who this new villain is, and ends with things looking bleak for Batman.
