Issue #7 of the English adaptation of Contro Natura by Mirka Andolfo is last weeks review I wrote over at Impulse Gamer. It is set in a world of humans and anthropomorphic beings, where those anthropomorphic beings are prevented from breeding outside their species by very stringent laws. The series focuses on Leslie, who is being romanced by a wolf-spirit of sorts and is seeking him out. As a result, the authorities are in pursuit of her and her friends.
I’ll say this first: I’m not a fan of the sexualized anthropomorphic character genre. It’s just something that doesn’t grab me. That said, this book is very well written, and the art is excellent. The detail in some scenes is fantastic, and the character development as the issue progresses is really well done.
I’m not going to give this one a hard recommend, but will say that if you’re looking for a good book that may be outside your comfort zone, this would be a good place to start.
